In 2016, Ski Magazine and Investopedia listed Okemo Mountain Resort as the TOP 10 EASTERN SKI RESORTS and one of the 6 BEST PLACES TO BUY A WINTER HOME. There are many reasons to purchase a home at Okemo. It has 655 skiable acres, 120 trails, great amenities, and some of New England’s best snowmaking when Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate. Plus, you’ll experience “The Okemo Difference”. Okemo’s guest services truly distinguish this family-owned and operated resort from any other ski haven in New England.
Okemo Mountain Resort is in southern Vermont's quaint village of Ludlow, just an hour from the Massachusetts border and easily accessible from Connecticut, the Boston area, New York City, or beyond. Fall & Winter
Fall and winter are popular seasons in Vermont. The leaves begin to turn and the colors are a sight to see, both for residents and visitors. People travel from all over to view the brilliant colors of foliage and take part in the quintessential fall activities New England is famous for. Okemo and Ludlow Village are the ideal spots to enjoy this season to the fullest. Take in the scenery from atop the mountain, visit local orchards for apple picking, or attend the many events, including the Fall Into Winter celebration at Okemo.
The base of Okemo Mountain is 1,144 ft above sea level and the summit is 3,344 ft. At 2,200 ft, Okemo has the largest vertical drop in southern Vermont. This makes it the perfect destination for avid skiers and snowboarders. Okemo has some of the best skiing in Vermont but the mountain isn’t limited to just skiers and snowboarders. This family-friendly resort has something for everyone. Spend the day exploring by nordic skis or snowshoes, view the mountain by moonlight during a snowcat excursion, ride the Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster, check out the slope side tubing park, skate around the Ice House, or take some practice swings at the indoor golf training center. There is something for everyone at Okemo Mountain.
Spring & Summer
Once the snow melts, Okemo Mountain transforms into a spring and summer destination. There are miles of trails on the mountain that are perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Hike to the peak to view Okemo State Forest’s lush trees and take in the panoramic views. Okemo’s Evolution Bike Park has over three miles of trails that cater to all, from the most advanced riders to beginners. These trails are easily accessed by lift and the mountain offers classes for first-time riders. For a day of leisure, tee it up at Okemo Valley Golf Club, one of the best resort courses in New England. Visit our beautiful lakes region, about 10 minutes from SouthFace Village. Hike to the top of Pinnacle Peak for a 360 degree view of the beautiful Green Mountains, or just do nothing at all.
